Coatepec
Coatepec is a large Aztec temple in the in the Sixth Aztec Empire. It was designed in the Third Phase by Aztec architects but built in the Fourth Phase. It is the largest temple in the world, standing at 126 blocks tall and having an exactly 72000 block area. The Coatepec is similar to the Templo Mayor, the main temple of the Second Aztec Empire, Fourth Aztec Empire and Fifth Aztec Empire. Both the Coatepec and Templo Mayor serve Tlaloc and Huitzilopochtli, both also having two structures at the top of the temple as well as two stairs leading towards those two structures. Furthermore, both are large compared to most Mesoamerican temples and both have two structures at the bottom of the temple. However, at the same time these structures are different. The Templo Mayor in Tenochtitlan in the Third Phase, has those two smaller structures separated from the pyramid. However, the Coatepec has the two structures connected to the pyramid itself. Ultimately, the Coatepec is about 9.5 times larger than the Templo Mayor in the Fifth Aztec Empire.
