The current Aztec flag, of the Fifth Aztec Empire. It is similar to the first version of the Aztec flag.

The Aztecs are a militaristic Mesoamerican civilization in the first, second and third phase.

History

The First Phase

The First Empire

The Aztecs originated from a single village in the First Phase, which sought to expand quickly. However, this village was not Mesoamerican, however, it did mark the beginning of the Aztec civilization. Their role in the first phase is unknown. The Aztecs were one of the first empires to exist in all of the phases but were likely not powerful. However, this would change once the Second Phase came around.

The Second Phase

The Second Empire

The second phase would see the end of the 2 large nations of Toenataran and Boenoetica. However the Egyptians as well as the Aztecs continued into the second phase. Creating the Second Aztec Empire. Here the Aztecs fought their first battles against the Egyptians. The Egyptians would be beaten by a huge flood in the desert they lived in. The Aztecs then wanted to expand, but were surrounded by a flooded desert, swamps and more deserts. This caused the Aztecs to go to the south to find a new area, mostly searching for a jungle biome.

The Third Empire

From here the Aztecs would form their Third Aztec Empire. They sought to convert one huge jungle biome into one large city, known as Tikal. This was the first major city the Aztecs owned. The Aztecs never succeeded in completely converting the jungle biome into one city, but they did claim a lot of land. Using their large amount of territory and military power, they started conflicts in the area. They first attacked Japan, then attacked the Romans and Greeks as well. The Japanese were the first to fall. In the meantime the Aztecs would also attack numerous other civilizations, like the Egyptians and Mongolians. The Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was said to be assassinated in the Greek city which had no name at the time. The Aztecs claimed responsibility. However, Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was seen a few years later ruling a fairly moderate Roman empire, implying that the Aztecs did in fact not assassinate him. The old Roman empire would surrender next and the Greeks would capitulate a bit later as well.

The early Tikal

The Greek & Roman defeat lead to the Greeks & Romans fleeing to a Norse city and claiming it for themselves. They would enslave the inhabitants and treat them poorly. The Norse empire was deeply offended, and declared war on the Greeks & Romans and would constantly attack them. Following this the Norse empire signed an alliance with the Aztec empire. After a long time fighting, the Norse empire claimed victory and the Romans & Greeks had to flee again, to which the Greeks were deemed destroyed. The Aztec goal was complete, they defeated their enemies. They then claimed the Norse city for themselves, angering the Norse empire. The Aztec military would then attack the Norse empire in an attempt to show their power to the world. The Norse empire retreated and the whole area was conquered by the Aztecs.

In the meantime the Mongolian Empire copied Aztec house designs. The Aztecs disliked this a lot and followed that with attacking and eventually defeating the Mongolians, making the Mongolians flee to another area. The Aztecs would then attack the large Egyptian empire which had been building up for a large battle against the Aztecs. The major Egyptian city "Anubis" would be under attack by Aztecs, however, the Egyptians managed to defend this well. The Aztecs then did not attack the Egyptians anymore for the time being.

The Fourth Empire

Following the Aztec defeat in Anubis, the Aztecs sought new land to settle on. They found a large jungle biome as well as a large mesa biome. They would settle in those 2 large biomes, as well as in some other areas close these biomes, creating the Fourth Aztec Empire.

They would settle the following cities in the jungle:

The early Tenochtitlan

They would also settle the following cities in the mesa biome:

The early mesa cities

The Aztecs also settled the following cities in other biomes:

The large amount of cities made the Aztecs even more powerful. The Aztecs also still owned their old city, Tikal. However, this would change. The First Battle of Tikal would begin. Tikal would be attacked by Greeks, Romans, Japanese and Egyptian armies. The Aztec armies defended Tikal well but eventually were defeated by the much larger Greek, Roman, Japanese and Egyptian armies. The Aztecs were then revealed to let Tikal be taken, to then make it look like the Aztecs were near extinct and weak. They did this well as no one knew the fourth Aztec empire existed.

The Aztecs would then be surprised by the Mongolian Empire to the east of the fourth Aztec empire. The Mongolians sought revenge for their early demise caused by the Aztecs. A war started, however, this one would never end. Due to the large area the Mongolians lived in, including desert, savanna and plains biomes, the Aztecs understood they could not conquer the Mongolian empire easily. Having close ties with the Mayas, they asked the Mayas to create a new phase, where only Aztecs could go through. The Mayas agreed, and let the second phase end with their large phase temple.

This Mayan phase temple was a typical Mesoamerican temple with a large golden circle on top, standing vertically. It started to shine and marked the end of the second phase. The whole world erupted in flames. The Aztecs opened a portal in Tenochtitlan, and were the first to arrive in the third phase. However the Aztec plan failed as more empires escaped the second phase, the first being the Mongolians, followed by Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Mayas, Incas and many more empires.

The Third Phase

The Fifth Empire

Once in the Third Phase, the Aztecs quickly became one of the strongest empires in Minecraftia. The Aztecs built the large city Tenochtitlan, as well as a lot of cities, including Xochicalco, a large military savanna city, and a lot of Mesa cities. They would follow this up with building a lot more cities. This is called the "Aztec Golden Age", as the Aztecs were military and economically stronger than ever before. This is the Fifth Aztec Empire.

Tenochtitlan

Boenoetica saw a return in the third phase. The Aztecs at first did not notice, but when the Aztec empire started sending scouts all over the world, they found the empire. They had a hard time identifying it since they did not recognise it anymore. Even though not being able to identify it, the Aztecs sent armies to attack it. The Aztecs found out it was Boenoetica and were terrified, but decided to take the opportunity to destroy them. However, Montezuma II was convinced this was just a small Boenoetican village, and that there would be a very large Boenoetican empire.

Also Toenataran would see a return in the third phase. Toenataran did not own one large city, but instead owned multiple hidden villages in Mangrove swamps. Toetanaran, the old leader of Toenataran, governed the small villages, and they would live a relaxing life in their eyes. However, Aztec scouts, found one of the villages. They killed every Toenatarian easily, and then went into the village to investigate. Upon realising it was Toenataran, the Aztecs sent more armies to find and eliminate any Toenataran village or even city if they could find more.

In the middle east the Aztecs also started playing a role. There was a large "Arab League". A few countries left this league, including [[Iran], also known as the Persian Empire. Iran would attack Egypt and many other nations that were allied to Egypt. Due to the right wing regime in Iran and the common enemies, the Aztecs liked the Iranians. They set up an alliance with each other and the Aztecs aided Iran with fighting nations. In Iraq the Aztecs aided Iranian forces. The Iranian forces attacked Iraq directly to gain territory and treasury. This failed but the southern city in Iraq was in a terrible state after the attacks. The Aztecs would also aid the Iranians attacking Lebanon, as an ally of Iran, Hezbollah, was attacked by Lebanon. The same happened in Yemen, as the Yemeni armies attacked Houthi forces. Furthermore the Aztecs also aided Hamas, as it tried to conquer the Kingdom of Jerusalem.

In Egypt stability was decreasing, as a lot of Egyptian nationalists wanted independence from The Pharaoh. This caused a brief civil war, leading to the Aztecs and Iranians also aiding the Egyptian Nationalists. The Pharaoh agreed to negotiations and allowed all Egyptian nationalists to leave and start their own empire. They also agreed to not attack each other for the first 5 years of Nationalist Egypt existing. The Egyptian nationalists would create their new capital, Masr.

The Great Expansion

After a while, the Aztecs decided to create more cities around Lake Texcoco, to protect Tenochtitlan with a thick wall of Aztec cities from foreign invasions. They also created the large city Teotitlán. It has the largest Sacred Precinct and temple. It became the administrative city of the Aztec Empire.

The Empire now

The Aztecs continue expanding every day. They have allies, like the Mayan Empire and the Inca Empire. Though not having the largest military in the world nor the largest economy in the world, the Aztecs are historically speaking, one of the strongest nations that still exists to this day.

Culture

Behaviour

The Aztecs have been very aggressive starting all the way back to their second empire, where they attacked Egyptians and conquered some land. Though the Aztecs have been seen in a peace area on the south, where some empires came together and agreed to live in peace and prosper that way, the Aztecs still are deemed aggressive by many nations.

Cities

The peace area, with the Aztecs in the south (second phase)

Aztecs also use cities for specific purposes. Xochicalco is an example of a military city, which specializes in creating equipment and training future soldiers, as well as housing generals. Xilocapan is an example of a populous city, which is meant to get as many people as possible to then send to other cities and work, or even going to military cities and becoming soldiers. However these cities often have a lot of unemployment and a lot of need of consumption goods. Another example of one of these types of cities is the old Tikal. Most mesa cities are recourse cities, which are meant to gather terracotta and stone, and if the city is in a wooded badlands biome, they also chop wood. These cities often don't have a lot of people and live in riches.

Tenochtitlan is the center of it all. Here, trade is done to receive stone, wood, terracotta, people, farm supplies, consumption goods, equipment and more goods.

Ideology

Aztecs are notably totalitarian. There is only one ruler, which has been Montezuma II for all of the existence of the Aztec empire. Montezuma II appoints less important emperors for every area and every city. Each area, like a large mesa biome area, is governed by one emperor. Furthermore each city has got at least one emperor, and in most cases at max 1 emperor as well.

The Aztecs also have a system of most important to least important races.

  • 1: Full blood Aztecs
  • 2: Mesoamerican allies or puppets, like Mayas and Incas
  • 3: Mesoamerican nations with a neutral relation to the Aztecs
  • 4: Allies of the Aztecs, like Iranians
  • 5: Nations with a neutral relation to the Aztecs
  • 6: Mesoamerican nations that are enemies of the Aztecs
  • 7: Enemies of the Aztecs
  • 8: Egyptians

Some things are complicated, like Nationalist Egypt. The Aztecs aren't allied with nationalist Egypt, but aren't enemies either. The Aztecs dislike the Egyptians a lot, but these Egyptians are on the same side as the Aztecs, both being right wing and having common enemies. This leads to them being indirectly allied in wars, but disliking each other still.

Religion

God of the Sun and War, Huitzilopochtli

The Aztecs have a polytheistic religion, meaning there are multiple gods the Aztecs worship. The 2 most important gods are the god of the sun and war, Huitzilopochtli, and the god of the rain and thunder, Tlaloc. These gods would be worshipped in the Third Aztec Empire already, but on a small scale. In the time of the Fourth Aztec Empire, these 2 gods would even receive a shared temple, in the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan. The amount these gods were worshipped was still on a small scale. In the Third Phase, the Aztecs would worship these gods a lot more, making these gods the most worshipped gods of all. They would again receive a shared temple in Tenochtitlan. This temple is known as the Templo Mayor, also known as the Huēyi Teōcalli or the Hueyi Teocalli.
