He wrote a note saying "Your brother Brian is still alive" and left the scene. Once Dexter woke up he saw the note and was horrified. The only person to outsmart Dexter was Frank Price. Frank Price started spying on Dexter Morgan and Brian Moser until they reunited after a few years. The tar pit killings had ceased for those few years.
