Biography

The Espinosa Gang is a large and powerful gang that traffics drugs through out the states of Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Texas, and New Mexico. The prominent members of the Espinosa Gang are all related, the eldest being Ricardo Espinosa, who is the gang Leader. Next in line is the second oldest, Nicolas Espinosa. He is the co-leader. Thirdly comes Miguel Espinosa, who is ranked as the gangs Lieutenant. The fourth oldest is Fabio Espinosa, who is a High Ranking Agent. Lastly, the youngest being Rodrigue Espinosa, who is a Higher Agent. The Espinosa Gang's prominent members are related as brothers, this gives them the mindset of "blood for blood" for one another. If one of them where to ever be killed during a mission or by any means at all which is caused by another person, the remaining members would hunt down the murderer and kill them and their close loved ones to avenge their deceased brother. This mindset isn't just limited to the prominent members though as it is shared throughout the whole gang, meaning that if one of their men was to be killed the Espinosas would still go out their way to avenge them as well. The Espinosa Gang has 2 more notable members, being Sergio Vagancia, a co-leader and Alonzo Pozo, a lieutenant. However, he mostly serves as the right hand man and bodyguard of Sergio Vagancia.

History

The Espinosa Gang used to trade with the Eladio Cartel before they were framed by the Salamancas for an attack on Eladio Cartel's agents Ignacio Varga, and Arturo Colon, who were actually in on this plot. Eladio Vuente was furious and rivalled the Espinosa Gang. This created one sided rivalry on the Eladio Cartel's behalf. Not too long after their leader Eladio Vuente declared war on the Espinosa Gang, the war between both groups caused the Espinosa Gang to also consider the Eladio Cartel to be a rival and encouraged them not continue trade with them anymore. Although as the word war may suggest constant battling, neither group constantly fought one another. The war mostly consisted of each group to fight whenever they came across the other. Neither side won this war because the Eladio Cartel was disbanded after Eladio Vuente was shot and killed by Hector Salamanca, disbanding the Eladio Cartel and forming the Salamanca Cartel. Even with the Eladio Cartel gone every now and then the Espinosa Gang will run into a former Eladio Cartel member and still fight them as this does not make the Espinosa Gang and former members of the cartel at peace again. And as for the Salamancas, the Espinosa Gang has established that they too are considered rivals for framing them for the attack of Ignacio Varga, and Arturo Colon. The Espinosa Gang tends to now focus the business belonging to Enrique Alvarez, Casa Rugs, whilst also focusing on Alvarez and his henchmen. Furthermore, the Espinosa Gang also occasionally attacks other gangs and cartels, such as the Potosino Cartel.

Notes & Trivia

  • The Espinosa Gang appears in the series Better Call Saul. This is what they‘re based off of. In that series, Gustavo Fring kills Arturo Colon and blames the death on the Espinosa Gang. Then, Ignacio Varga and the Salamanca Cousins, Marco Salamanca and Leonel Salamanca, go to the Westward Ho Motel, the place where the Espinosa Gang resides. Then, Marco and Leonel Salamanca kill 21 Espinosa Gang members. In the Man in the High Brick, the Salamancas stage the attack on Arturo Colon and Ignacio Varga. They blame the Espinosa Gang so Eladio declares war on then. Then, Eladio proceeds and declares war on the Espinosa Gang. A high number of altercations between the Eladio supported La Hermandad del Desierto and the Espinosa Gang occur. However, here, the Espinosa Gang is not disbanded unlike in the series Better Call Saul.
