The Mayan Empire is a Mesoamerican empire. After the Aztec Empire the Mayan Empire is the strongest Mesoamerican empire.
History
The First Phase

The Mayas did not exist in the first phase. However, the Mayas did end the Second Phase using the Mayan phase temple. The Mayas also own the Gran Jaguar temple, also known as templo I. It is thought to be able to end the Third Phase This leads to suspicion that the Mayas did in fact exist in the First Phase and ended it, starting the second phase.
The Second Phase
The Mayas played a minor role in the Second Phase. They used their Mayan phase temple to end the phase. Also the Mayas were a subject to the Aztec Empire
The Third Phase
In the Third Phase the Mayan Empire is large. A large area is under the influence of the Mayan Empire. They also built their new capital, Tikal. This was an Aztec city in the Second Phase. However, now, it is a Mayan city.
