Teotitlán is the one of the largest Aztec cities, fighting for the #1 place with the cities Tenochtitlan and Tikal. Teotitlán is a predominantly Zapotec city, ruled by the Aztecs. The Zapotecs originally called it "Xaquija", what means "Celestial Constellation". However, the Aztecs rule over the Zapotecs and therefore renamed it to Teotitlán. Teotitlán serves as the administrative city of the Fifth Aztec Empire. Teotitlán is ruled by Iztlacotl, an Aztec City Emperor.

Teotitlán has the following important buildings:

  • The Teotitlán Temple for Tlaloc

History

The Construction of Teotitlán commenced long after the creation of the Fifth Aztec Empire. It's construction started once the Aztecs started building cities around Lake Texcoco. At this time, the Sacred Precinct of Tikal was the largest, having taken the first place beating Tenochtitlan's first place.
