History

Childhood

Not much is known about Rudolf Riefenstein in his childhood. There are no accounts of him having family, though Riefenstien obviously has or had family. Riefenstein however is reported to always have been interested in military subjects since a young age.

Adulthood

Once Riefenstein turned 18, he enlisted to become a soldier in the German military. Germany had just lost World War I, and Riefenstein felt that the leaders of Germany had betrayed the German armies. Riefenstein however did not want to join the army yet. He felt like he would be better off making his business successful first, to impress his parents and his girlfriend at the time.

First Contact with National Socialism

After a few years, Riefenstein's business took off and made him a large amount of money. He now looked what to do, stating he was rather bored. He would visit clubs, theaters, malls and parks. However, Riefenstein noticed a building, in his words "an interesting and eye catching building", which belonged to the DAP (Abbreviation for German Workers' party). Riefenstein met Hermann Göring and both got along quite well. Göring gave Riefenstein advice to stop going to clubs, theaters, malls and parks, and instead focus on being successful, like joining the military. Riefenstein was inspired and planned to apply for the German military in a few years, which would then become the Wehrmacht.

Joining the Wehrmacht

Once Rudolf Riefenstein applied to join the Wehrmacht, he was accepted a week later. He was offered the rank of Unteroffizier. Though Riefenstein wanted to fight as a soldier instead, he took this rank as officer.

Quickly, Riefenstein's skills were noticed by his superiors. Göring recognised Riefenstein and gave Riefenstein a high rank, much to Hitler‘s disliking. Riefenstein earned the rank of Oberstleutnant.

Anschluss

A few years later, Hitler would pursue the plan for the Anschluss. This was a plan to start a referendum in Austria, to join Germany. Riefenstein was one of the masterminds behind this idea, and therefore gained Hitler‘s trust. Hitler promoted Riefenstein for his "marvelous ideas". Riefenstein was promoted to Generalleutnant. Riefenstein's plan worked, and Hitler congratulated Riefenstein personally for his "great work".

World War II

Riefenstein would not do much after this until World War II. Germany declared war on Poland, and Riefenstein was ordered to develop tactics to fight Polish troops in Warsaw. Riefenstein's tactics were unsuccessful, due to the high amount of Polish troops and rebels present in Warsaw. However, Poland would capitulate quite fast. This lead to Hitler not punishing Riefenstein's defeat.

Rudolf Riefenstein would then be present with the creation of the plans to invade the Benelux. Riefenstein wanted to successfully take all of the Benelux within 30 days. He succeeded, taking all of the Benelux in less than 20 days. He was promoted to General due to success.

Downfall of the USA

The now high ranking Riefenstein was the leader of some parts of the Wehrmacht. He suggested to invade the United States of America as well. Hitler liked the idea, especially since The Empire of Japan attacked the USA too. Hitler ordered Riefenstein and a few other generals to invade the United States of America. Due to the current successes, Riefenstein was promoted to Generaloberst. Once the USA fully surrendered due to Riefenstein‘s successes, he was promoted once again, to Generalfeldmarschall.

Schutzstaffel

At this moment, the field marshal was invited to be a member of the Schutzstaffel. Riefenstein at first was sceptical, but since there was no current war, he accepted. Hitler immediately gave him the rank of Oberstgruppenführer. Originally, Hitler wanted to give Riefenstein the rank of Reichsführer, but this rank was bestowed upon only one person, being Heinrich Himmler at the time. Due to Riefenstein not being able to gain the rank of Reichsführer, Hitler looked for another high ranking title for Riefenstein. Reichsmarschall was Hitler's second choice, but was also already taken. Furthermore Reichsmarschall is not a SS-rank. Hitler then presented Riefenstein with the title of Reichsrichter.

After America started converting to a more Germanic state, Riefenstein portrayed interest in America. Due to his interest in America, he needed a Germanic official to report to him what happens in Berlin. He appointed the at the time Gruppenführer Wilhelm Goertzmann. Wilhelm Goertzmann was then promoted to Obergruppenführer for taking his task rather seriously. Wilhelm Goertzmann eventually was tasked with his own office and did not report to any superiors besides the high ranking Germanic elite. Goertzmann would later be promoted again to Oberstgruppenführer.

Riefenstein visited many American cities and met numerous Germanic officials. One instance, he would meet with Oberstgruppenführer Keller Schmidt. Later that same day, Riefenstein would meet Obergruppenführer John Smith. John Smith looked up to Riefenstein and was polite. But, Riefenstein did not look at Smith with awe. On the contrary, Riefenstein looked at Smith near disgusted. Riefenstein is reported having said: "John Smith? He is a nice fellow, but in no way an equal to me. His ignorance disgusts me. He should be more cautious about everything". Smith heard about this a few days later and was shocked and devastated. Smith's direct superior, Enric Pryde, displayed disgust to Riefenstein in retaliation. Due to all this, Riefenstein left America and went back to Berlin.

Operation Valkyrie

Riefenstein would do not much now besides checking if everyone was loyal. Him being the Reichsrichter, gave him the responsibility of making sure of that. But, Hitler summoned Riefenstein to the Wolf‘s Lair. Riefenstein was present at this meeting, like other high ranking Germanic officials. However, this was the moment of an assassination attempt on Hitler. An explosive under the table they were talking at exploded, killing Joseph Goebbels, and severely injuring Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler. Riefenstein was barely injured. Riefenstein was hit by the explosion, but only fell to the ground, bruising his arm.

Himmler, being in the hospital, ordered Riefenstein to find the traitors. Himmler immediately had Claus von Stauffenberg arrested. Riefenstein then found 2 other officers under Himmler‘s orders. He would then also arrest a further 3 officers, who were found innocent later. Riefenstein furthermore found out about Helmfried Wehner's betrayal. However, Riefenstein is no detective and therefore only arrested officers and then transferred them to other Germanic officials.

Riefenstein does not do much after this, due to there being no war. Riefenstein was tasked with rooting out resistance. After Adolf Hitler passed away Hermann Göring seized control of Germania. Hermann Göring highly valued Riefenstein and promoted him to Kriegsführer (formerly known as Kriegsleiter). Riefenstein still did not do much. Together with other generals, he attempts to eradicate resistance.

Downfall of Göring

A while later, Göring got sick. Göring requested Amon Goeth to be promoted to Stellvertretender Kanzler. However, instead Martin Heusmann was appointed this rank. Martin Heusmann was deemed not dangerous to Germania until Göring could return, unlike other leaders who maybe would seek territorial expansion or betraying their alliances. Ultimately, Heusmann's goal was to eradicate all other nations on the world and make Germania the only nation in the world. Starting with the Empire of Japan, his plan after that was to attack the Soviet Union. Rudolf Riefenstein made plans together with other generals for invading Japan. Heusmann was eventually arrested before all plans could be carried out. R

Riefenstein was apprehended and brought to court for the Washington Trials. This was due to the fact Riefenstein made the plans to invade the Empire of Japan. However, he was ordered to do so by Stellvertretender Kanzler Heusmann. He was later found innocent for simply doing his job as leading general.
