Hugo Reiss is a high ranking Germanic official. Hugo Reiss is an ambassador in the Empire of Japan. Due to his important and high ranking position, Reiss was promoted to Oberstgruppenführer. Hugo Reiss is a high ranking member of the Heusmann Conspiracy. Reiss is one of Heusmann's closest associates. Furthermore, Hugo Reiss is a high ranking general, wielding the rank of Generaloberst.

Role in Heusmann’s Conspiracy

Hugo Reiss plays a intensely significant role in the extreme tensions between Germania and the Empire of Japan, after Hermann Göring's death. Hugo Reiss was not initially a member of Heusmann’s conspiracy. Eventually, Martin Heusmann met with Hugo Reiss. Heusmann convinced Reiss to join Heusmann’s conspiracy. Hugo Reiss immediately left his embassy in the Empire of Japan after Heusmann requested him to. Reiss stated it was likely Japanese assassins that had killed Hermann Göring. A lie fabricated by Heusmann and his conspirators. Due to this, it was clear Hugo Reiss was a close associate of Heusmann. When Heusmann was discovered of being treasonous, Hugo Reiss was one of the first people under suspicion of also being a member of Heusmann’s conspiracy. Hugo Reiss was located hiding in a remote mansion.

Hugo Reiss was hiding together with Olivier Diels, a fellow conspirator. They were accompanied by a few hired resistance members using Soviet weaponry as well as a few Wehrmacht soldiers loyal to Heusmann.

Schutzstaffel forces located the mansion and rushed there. Hugo Reiss was planning an escape. His car was waiting outside but the SS forces were too fast. They surrounded the building. The resistance members fought fiercely. Then the Wehrmacht soldiers also opened fire. The SS returned heavy fire. The SS forces then entered the mansion, trying to locate Hugo Reiss and Olivier Diels. These SS forces were speculating Hugo Reiss had already escaped, possibly with Olivier Diels. Then Olivier Diels and Hugo Reiss were seen on the top of the mansion. The Mansion had a flat roof to stand on. Reiss and Diels were waiting for a helicopter to arrive. In the meantime the SS forces were approaching Reiss and Diels. Hugo Reiss then shot Olivier Diels in his head saying: "We are traitors, and we shall perish here!". Reiss pointed the gun to his chin but was kicked by an SS captain, therefore losing the gun. Reiss was then arrested. Olivier Diels was declared deceased. All resistance members as well as the Wehrmacht soldiers were interrogated. They were then shot after the interrogations finished.

Hugo Reiss was brought to the Washington Trials, where he would be declared guilty and sentenced to death.
