It is also situated on top of a mountain. Due to its terrain and distance it has very little self sustaining food supplies and little to no trade routes. This leaves Meztli as one of the most isolated cities in the Second Phase.
The temple in Meztli is believed to be based on the Gran Jaguar temple (also known as Templo I, built in Tikal in the Third Phase.
