Bacon I
Bacon I was the first Beardom coalition. The coalition included CBP, VBB, Beer25, ASC and BP. The coalition was centre-right aligned.
History
Though these were the first elections, the coalition was swiftly formed, as all five parties agreed on most things with each other. The CBP, the largest party, already had some experience ruling, as it's leader Beertje Bacon, used to be an monocratic leader of the Beardom for approximately 11 years. The other four parties however were relatively inexperienced.
The five separate parties each wanted to follow their own course however. The CBP wanted to continue the course the Beardom had for the past 11 years. The VBB was relatively similar in this aspect, but wanted to expand economically with new companies and new economic rules. Beer25 and BP wanted to improve and expand the police force. The ASC wants to improve the newly-established democracy and it's rules.
Changes during Bacon I
Police Force
One of the main goals of Bear25 and also BP was to improve the army of the bears. Bear25 succeeded in employed four Stalen Beren. These served as the police force as well as bodyguards. They were meant to be the equivalents of the Tigerium's Fangtooths. This was the first goal achieved by the coalition. Practically every single party agreed there had to be some police force, as previously during the Octoberprotests, the protests got out of hand and the Tigerium's Fangtooths had to intervene.
Seat Change
On the 28th of October, several protests emerged from smaller parties who had received few seats. Their argument for protesting was that they had received votes but no seats. Soon after, Sibears and Honeybears protested in the streets as well, demanding the seat amount be upped from 75 to 500. This was deemed unreasonable by the larger political parties, especially the coalition, as they would lose influence through this. Eventually however, with the Tigerium pushing for it as well, the coalition decided to accept increase of seats. Though they had to increase the amount of seats, they only doubled the amount, going from 75 to 150. The protests calmed down and all parties with 1 or more seats got twice the amount of seats they initially had.
The Senate
The ASC's goals were to improve the democracy. They demanded a Senate was to be created. At the same time of the regular elections, provincial elections would be held, where bears could vote on the leaders of political parties. In each province, the 5 most voted for leaders would receive 1 seat in the Senate. This means at a maximum, political parties can have 15 seats in the Senate. The coalition was happy with this change and immediately started the elections.
